About the Role

As a Vulnerability Researcher at Novee, you will join our Security Research team and play a key role in building the offensive and research-driven capabilities at the core of our platform.

This role is focused on deep vulnerability research and real-world security testing across customer environments, using a black-box penetration testing approach. Your work will help us understand modern attack surfaces, discover new vulnerabilities, and translate research findings into impactful product capabilities.

We are looking for someone with a true researcher mindset- not just running tools, but understanding how systems work, how attackers think, and how vulnerabilities map to real technical and business risk.

You will work alongside a highly skilled team of vulnerability researchers, with direct influence on product direction and the future of the company.

Responsibilities

Vulnerability Research & Offensive Security

Conduct vulnerability research on modern web applications and enterprise systems
Identify and analyze new attack vectors, exposures, and critical vulnerabilities
Stay up to date with modern exploitation techniques and attacker methodologies

Customer-Facing Security Testing

Perform black-box penetration testing and deep security assessments on real customer environments
Understand customer architectures and map vulnerabilities to real-world risk
Translate findings into actionable insights and product improvements

Tools, Code & Technical Depth

Use industry-standard tools such as Burp Suite, fuzzers, debuggers, and reverse engineering frameworks
“Swim in code” to identify weaknesses and vulnerability patterns (especially in JavaScript-heavy environments)
Collaborate closely with Engineering and Product teams to turn research into platform capabilities

Research Visibility (Optional)

Contribute to vulnerability write-ups, technical blogs, or conference representation when relevant

Requirements

4+ years of relevant experience in vulnerability research or offensive security
Strong background in web application security and application-level penetration testing
High proficiency in JavaScript and understanding of modern web technologies
Independent, versatile researcher with a strong ability to learn tools and techniques as needed
Deep technical mindset beyond tooling - understands systems, business context, and attacker behavior
Experience working with enterprise production environments

Nice to Have

Experience publishing vulnerability research, blog posts, or technical write-ups
Bug bounty experience or publicly credited vulnerabilities (e.g., CVEs)
Familiarity with AI-powered workflows or AI agents (Claude, etc.)
Background from elite cybersecurity units
